Associated Press - April 24, 2009 4:15 AM ET GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina's lieutenant governor wants seniors to know they can walk their way to heart health. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer is hosting a wellness walk in Greenville on Friday to kick off this year's Lieutenant Governor's Challenge in South Carolina. Participants in the 12-week program that's happening nationwide earn points by doing everyday activities, and everyone who meets a points goal receives a medal. In South Carolina, that challenge includes an interactive online program where seniors can make nutrition and fitness choices and a series of wellness walks where seniors can get free health screenings and healthy living tips.
