“HELPING AMERICANS BREATHE EASIER - WINNING WITH ASTHMA”
As an association, NLGA is engaged in phase two of a multi-state public health education campaign bringing awareness to asthma.  The first phase, "Helping Americans Breath Easier", covered the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Virginia, Wisconsin and the Territory of Guam.  In each state, the lieutenant governor distributed asthma action plans, bookmarks and wallet cards to help educate individuals about the effects and treatment of asthma.

The second phase of the program will expand the existing "Winning With Asthma" Coaches Clipboard Program to seven states.  To learn more about the "Winning With Asthma" program as developed by Minnesota Department of Health Asthma Program, the Minnesota STEPS initiative, and the Utah Department of Health Asthma Program, please go to:  http://winningwithasthma.org/

This web site will track the progress of the expansion to the following states.  Click on the state name to see details of their effort as they launch thru October 10, 2008.  This expansion involves six lieutenant governors, two state senators, four American Lung Association chapters, one AAFA chapter, and a Department of Health.
