NLGA WELCOMES ASSOC. DIRECTOR MORGAN MUNDELL
The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) welcomes Associate Director Morgan Mundell.
“Morgan brings a decade of experience in research and working with state, federal, and local elected officials. He has been published more than a dozen times on diverse issues including tourism, water quality, business impact, land use, and transportation and cigarette taxes,” said NLGA Executive Director Julia Hurst.
“I am pleased for the opportunity to work in a bi-partisan arena with these important and vital officials who serve as second-in-command in their governments,” said Mundell. “My background includes an emphasis on the economic impact of various policies and actuarial and fiscal analysis of proposals.”
Prior to joining NLGA, Mundell was Executive Director of the Joint Committee on Capital Improvements and Leases Oversight for the Missouri Legislature where he worked with both the state legislative and executive branches in continual supervision of the state’s $200 million dollar budget expenditures for state buildings and leases. He also served as the Assistant Director for the Community Policy Analysis Center at the University of Missouri.
He is certified in the use of IMPLAN, a premier economic impact modeling system, and he has a New Media certificate. Mundell is a graduate of the Natural Resources Leadership Institute at North Carolina University where he developed conflict resolution skills in the natural resources public policy arena. He has a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
"Morgan will enable NLGA to expand its work in vital fields working with private sector, federal, foundation and association partners," said Hurst. Hurst has nearly 20 years of state government experience including time as chief operating officer of The Council of State Governments, four sessions as a legislative chief of staff, and time as a multi-state lobbyist. During her tenure with NLGA, the Association has won regional and national awards regarding the quality of their project work.
