NATION’S LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS GATHER ON THE ECONOMY
More than half the nation’s lieutenant governors will meet in Washington D.C. for 2 ˝ days of exchange on the nation’s economy. Twenty-eight lieutenant governors are registered to attend the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) Federal-State Relations meeting in Washington D.C. March 23 – 25, 2011. Topics include the federal budget, international trade, higher education, transportation and energy, health care reform, and other elements vital to the economic recovery and development of the states and territories.

“Lieutenant governors will discuss dozens of elements of economic development from many aspects,” said NLGA Director Julia Hurst. “The meeting will include specific bi-partisan networking, fostering regional collaborations, and development of public-private sector partnerships.” Sessions include a briefing on federal health care reform from lawsuits to exchanges, long term care and the aging population, cutting edge technology application to states and governments, tools to assist with state budgets, and more.
