NLGA: Creative Economy Site Visit & Arts Award Chicago Architecture Foundation architectural boat tour (Rain or shine event) (CONFIRMED) Not open to press.
As the economy sends conflicting signals regarding recovery, lieutenant governors examine a changing and growing creative economy. The 2012 Creative Industries Report by Americans for the Arts based on Dun & Bradstreet data shows more than 904,500 businesses nationally are arts centric and employ more than 3.3-million people. The creative economy includes groups often not thought of like video game programmers. A robust creative economy contributes to economic growth by attracting a dynamic workforce, in part through more livable communities, and by serving as a destination for cultural tourism, as demonstrated on this site visit tour by boat on the Chicago River with the Chicago Architecture Foundation presenting 50 renowned buildings.
Presentation: Public Leadership in the Arts award
